Oh wow, what do you think of the place. My fiance lives there & I'm hoping to move there.

We spent a lot of time there last summer right up to ANZAC day & will do this summer too, there's a beach you can drive onto & was really sheltered, can't wait to go back soon.

I haven't seen much else in the way of shops, only ever stopped in the dairy for an ice cream but Porirua is only a 5 minutes away with everything you could ever need

Be nice to be near to the sea :clap

Um .... there are some rough areas IMHO so it might be a good idea to check where you want to live first.

I'm looking forward to moving there because my fiance's sent me some lovely photo's of the beach.

My fiance has lived there for the last 12 years & he loves it there. He took part in the Anzac Day Parade too.

we've been in Wellington for 14 months. Went up to the beach at Titahi Bay for the first time last weekend. Wasn't overly impressed. There were lots of cars and 4x4's on the beach. Plus loads of dogs. OK, the sign clearly says that dogs were allowed between certain dates, etc etc, however we are not dog lovers. Didn't look as loved as some of the other beaches in the area.

Couldn't comment on the area as a place to live.

As said by Victoria, my opinion would be that Titahi bay has some good and not so good parts to it, so if you are new to the area then it would be advisable to do some research before commiting to a location.

That said, you are with someone who knows the area well so I'm sure that all will be good.

It is a nice local beach and there are some good reserve areas around there as well.

As you may know, Titahi Bay is part of Porirua which isn't anywhere near as busy as Wellington most of the time (IMO) and has reasonably good shopping centre, so little need to go any further if you don't want to.

On the other hand, it has good road and rail links into Wellington and also upto the Kapiti coast if you do want to get out and about a bit more.
