Hi all

New person speaking :)

Living in Bedfordshire, heading for Christchurch end of the year! If all goes well of course. I am not very good at this patience thing. Compared to some here I seem to have it easy though. Applied for a job beginning of April, had a telephone interview beginning of May, they flew me out to NZ end of June, had a face-toface interview beginning of July, had a signed contract end of August, submitted EOI, got selected 2 days later. Waiting to hear from them no, but it's barely a week ago I got selected, so not surprising I haven't heard yet.

Hit a slight snag today. I have to apply for a new passport and the Dutch passport photographs rules are slightly different than the British ones. British heads apparenly are bigger than Dutch ones. As mine is very Dutch (and so is the rest of me incidentally) I found it is absolutely impossible to take a picture in any photobooth (tried it three times). So I got a friend to take lots of pictures of me. Was quite funny, we were in the students' union building trying everything that could possible count as a "neutral back ground". We sure got some strange looks! Anyway manage to fabricate some of my own with a lot of trial and error and new pictures are on their way to the consulate :-) More waiting now (takes 6-8 weeks, grr).

Anyone know a good recipe for patience????

That's due to us constantly banging our heads against brick walls trying to deal with British authorities :)

Welcome.

Welcome! Patience-I'm in that waiting game too...just occupy yourself. Hang out with friends, watch TV, play on the internet, get out and get exercise, play with animals, take up knitting (just kidding about the knitting). Hope that gives you a few ideas. Wish you the best!
