The hardest thing for my husband to get used to was the fact that gas station attendants kept trying to pump gas for him! :laugh

One was so upset that he couldn't do his job that he insisted on washing our windows for us!

Wow, real service. That's a nice one! :nice1

I assume it is the same all over NZ, yes?

Not so long ago it had gone nearly all self service, but in the last few years the service has come back into service stations. (service station is what we call gas stations)

Lots of times, though, it is quicker to do it yourself - when there's a lot of 'traffic' on the forecourt, that is.

Ah, thanks for that!

I was also surprised that you don't seem to be able to pay at the pump. That would really help speed things up!
