I was just thinking about communicating with people from back home. I fgure I will do some Yahoo video messaging and this got me to thinking about VOIP. If I signed up for Vonage (www.vonage.com) here I could just bring the equipment with me letting people back home call me on a US #.

Has anyone tried this?

Just yesterday we were thinking of doing the same. But we have not looked into it yet, so we aren't any help to you. But one thought that occurred to us is whether bandwidth is a problem in NZ given no cable modems, etc. and the high cost for service with unlimited bandwidth. Hmmmmm.

Very good point on bandwidth, I need to look into this more. I still have some time though!
