Flights?

I am terrified of flying and already thinking about the flight even though we haven't even sold the house yet! The thought of being on a plane for 10+ hours is keeping me awake at night. :uhoh
Is it possible to break up the journey into 7ish hour chunks? If it is possible what would be the route to take?
I have considered going by sea but I don't like boats either :wah

Have you tried Emirate airline as they go via Dubai and Australia.
The only problem is the more stops you have the more take offs and landings you have also.
I hope you overcome your fears and have a safe journey.

I hate flying too - i always thought MR T. (ARE YOU TOO YOUNG TO REMEMBER HIM)....KNOCK ME OUT AND WAKE ME UP AT THE OTHER END.
but a friend did recommended Tylonol Night and it relaxes you off to sleep and time drifts by in easy chunks - and I normally don't sleep easily on planes either! Only recommended if you do not have wee ones to watch over of course..... Alternatively have word with your doctor I am sure he/she will help. No easier way there - but it is so worth the effort.

I'll have a look at Emirates, thanks. :)
I know there will be extra take off and landings but I am more stressed when actually flying and find it completely unbearable, I actually don't mind landing - I know it's nearly over then!

Unfortunately I am old enough to remember Mr T! :uhoh
I'll look into tylonol, I would love to take something to knock me out. I already get medication from my GP for when I fly, I'm just not sure it would be effective enough for a long flight.
My OH tends to look after the children whenever we fly, he refuses to sit with me because I am so bad, also I don't want the children to pick up on my anxiety :no

I'm fairly certain the route that goes London - Dubai - Sinapore - Auckland with Emirates is roughly 7 hour chunks. We considered it but in the end decided to go straight through with Singapore airlines.
Good luck,
Anneliese

I swear by Dramamine! It's a motion sickness pill but the side affect is drowsiness... It always knocks me out! I slept the whole time both ways! Woke up good and rested and ready to start the day!

I had a look at Emirates and that route looks like it would do the trick... Heathrow - Dubai - Singapore - Melbourne -Auckland! :nice1
Told my OH I am doing it for his benefit, he is 6'5" and any more than 7 hrs cramped up would cripple him, he seems to have bought it so it's all good! :clap
I definately feel more relaxed about it now I know the most time in the air is going to be 7hrs, just need to crack on and get the house sold!
