Hello everyone,

I tried to search this online but could not find my answer. I am staying in Auckland for 1 month and my boxes will arrive in Auckland also. I am planning on buying a car in Auckland but it will not be large enough for transporting all of my boxes.

I would like to know if I can rent a truck for moving (meaning that I will drive it down to Queenstown) and also have that truck tow my car. I know we can attach a car in tow here in the US...but I could not find any info on any truck rental sites about this in NZ. Do truck rentals have that options in NZ? Or will my boyfriend and I have to drive separately? Any info on this will be greatly appreciated!:yes

It sounds incredibly expensive way of doing it - why not just send the boxes that don't fit in your car down to Queenstown? Either by air direct, or via post?
That has to be cheaper than hiring a truck for a one-way rental, which when you add on the cost of fuel and a ferry crossing will be pretty expensive.

I thought about the post but thought it would be pricier! I will look into all of that, thanks Kerry!:nice1

There are fairly cheap transport options. I used Mana transport to get some chairs delivered from Auckland to Welly, no problems.
