My OH is going (I will be in Spain). On the Saturday, I think. He's on here as Rik W but don't think he's posted yet as he has been ultra busy at work (and out of the country all week).

do you think we should all wear ENZ badges to spot each other or resort to the old "magazine and red rose" number?

Hi
We are hoping to go, we'll be the ones with three bored moaning kids cos my anti NZ parents probably wont look after them for a few hours while we go!
We are hoping to go on the Saturday, probably in the afternoon cheap train fares permitting!

interestingly, some friends are coming with us now ( we all have babysitters!). they have never mentioned NZ and dont know anything about it so im curious to know what their thoughts are from a "novice" perception. looking forward to our posts after expo to see what everyone got out of it.

We are going on the Sunday to London. Managed to get children looked after and a weekend in London (thanks to tesco vouchers!) under the guise of a romantic break just for the 2 of us. ( mm that sounds bad.......could be a romantic break aswell!)

Hurray! We have got the kids sorted for the day, so it will be a lot less stressful! We were meant to go in April but things didn't work out.
First day out together without the kids for years, really looking forward to it now!

Just wondered how long everyone is expecting to spend at the Expo? We need to book train tickets as it's cheaper to book a specific return train so wondered how long to allow for the Expo?

I went to a mortgage expo at earls court last year for work and spent about 2 hours there. I spoke at length with 3 stands. I guess it depends what you are hoping to achieve there. I'd leave more time spare rather than less

Thanks, reckon we'll allow loads of time, about 4 hours, then if we see/speak to everyone we want to we can grab a coffee before we rescue my parents. I need to keep them sweet as we have been invited to a 'no kids allowed' wedding, which means they might have to babysit twice in a year heaven forbid! (not asking them till after the Expo though!)
Seems like there will be a few of us there!

we're going to get there for when it opens and see what occurs. even if we leave by 11 I'd rather that than turn up at 2pm and rush around.

What else is there to do at the Expo other than lots of potential employers? I got the job part sorted, so was wondering if it is still of use to go? Has anyone been to one yet?

I went to the London one last year - was useful, spoke to INZ, went to the Immigration Seminar, got a job offer a couple of weeks afterwards, but it didnt work out because they wanted me in NZ before the end of last year. All history now :)

I'm going up to the London Expo (with the missus) on Sunday 19th October. However looking at the other thread posts here, it seems most others are going on the Saturday instead!
Anyone else going on the Sunday?
Cheers,
Pete!
