Hi
We are rather a lazy household when it comes to things like ironing and M&S do a range of "easy iron" and "non iron" men's button up shirts which do require a bit of ironing but not much and so are great! :yes Is there something like that available in NZ?
I am in the UK this week saying goodbye to my friends and family and was wondering if I should stock up on some for OH..

Not sure about non-iron shirts.....but I know very few people here who bother to iron anything at all anyway and no one cares if your clothes are a bit creased :) We've been here 16 months now ans have never used our iron...still has a UK plug on it.

A woman yesterday nearly had a fit laughing at me for using an ironing service... I too hate ironing! Actually she was laughing because I had a bedroom floor full of clothes hangers - the ironing service keeps sending me more!! I packed them all into a box, and they can have them back next time they come.

I've been looking for an ironing service in Wellington. I can't find one anywhere (or at least not one that requires me to get my shirts dry-cleaned as well...

Thanks for the replies... M&S here I come! ;)
Even if it is quite normal to not iron in NZ (aah bliss) and we generally don't iron our casual clothes anyway, I think it will take OH a while to get out of the habit of what he would normally wear for work so I will stock up for him. I am on the otherhand going to embrace the un-ironed look wholeheartedly!:nice1
Bergita, the service you use, is it part of some nationwide chain or Auckland specific?
Steve, I did a quick google on ironing in Wellington (as we are headed there too) and found this: http://www.absolutedomestics.co.nz/index.php

This is absolutely true - Out of 100+ staff in an office environment, I know of only one person who wears ironed shirts...and there are jokes his socks get ironed too. If a shirt is put on a hanger to dry or pegged out on a line it is fine:nice1

I saw a wrinkles-free shirt at Farmes today. I didn't buy one because I didn't know the brand. Maybe I try it next time.

I never iron and I reside in the US. If we need something wrinkle free, than we use a spray 'Magic Wrinkle Remover'. :nice1 You just spray it on dry clothes where the wrinkle is, and shake it out...then you get a great smelling wrinkle-free shirt. It's great!:clap I don't know if they sell that in the UK or in NZ, but I found it in the detergent isle of my grocery store.. I may have to stock up on that!:D

Hope - the ironing service I use is not part of a chain, I found him in the local paper. He charges $20 for 17 items, that seems to be fairly standard. He picks up my ironing on Saturday at 5pm and returns it on Sunday at 5pm. Totally works for me. If it wasn't for him, OH would do the ironing - he has all that army experience! :D

Thanks Bergita - that's too bad. Lets see - I stocked up on the non iron shirts in the UK and so hopefully OH won't have to spend anytime doing stuff like.

I buy my shirts from Charles Tyrwhitt. I go for slim-fit non-iron shirts. http://www.ctshirts.co.uk/
I'm pretty sure they deliver to NZ.

Charles Tyrwhitt is currently selling 4 shirts for GBP100. And, if you're ordering them from NZ for delivery over here, they won't charge you the 17.5% VAT (GST). So after taking into account the GBP12 delivery charge for express delivery to NZ, you'll get 4 Jermyn Street shirts for around NZD260 (a pretty good deal when compared with Nicholas Jermyn which is currently doing a 'special deal' of 3 shirts for NZD320).
You have to iron them though (or get someone else to). :yes

Not neccesarily - their non-iron shirts are great.
