Hi everyone,
I am about to start packing all of my clothes and shoes in boxes for shipping. I will have 2 luggages for clothes and shoes that I will need immediately after I arrive in Auckland on Oct 17th.
What kind of shoes and clothes will I need in NZ for mid Oct until the end of November until the boxes arrive? I will be traveling all over NZ...all the way down to Queenstown. Basically, what season/temperature should I prepare for?
Thanks,
Timea

Lots of thin-ish layers, so you can put on/add on/take off as appropriate.

Yes and a lightweight waterproof jacket for showers. Not sure about south island at this time of year but the north should be well warmed up then. We went to beach yesterday at Mount Maunganui/Tauranga, chilly when cloudy but lovely in the sunshine.
So there is only one rule I suppose, lots of thinnish layers!! :)

And be sure to have warmer nightclothes than you'd think you'd need - it's the matter of the buildings being less insulated than we're used to.

October is still spring ... but the answer is complicated by the fact that you are proposing to travel across many climate zones.
Ski fields are open till October ... it's not summer till december and even later in the south.
If you are going to the west coast bring rain gear!
basically you will need to cover 3-26*
