My OH is a recruitment consultant here in UK, anybody know what kind of salary he can expect in Cch?
I am a nurse and wondering the same question for me.
We are trying to do finance and see who would be best to be the main bread winner when we arrive and who would be part time to look after kids.
Thanks in advance
Rache

If it's any help nurses are normally paid according to the collective agreement. It can be found http://www.nzno.org.nz/Site/Sector_Groups/DHB_Sector_Group.aspx#67244-2 and then click NZNO DHB MECA April 2007 – March 2010 It gives you the pay scales according to your experience. It will give you a rough idea.

Just another thought, how does is work in NZ with unsocialable payments?
Do the salaries quoted include unsociable payments or do you claim on top of salary like here in UK?

Hi Rache

I believe that you get enhancements on top of the salary, much the same as you do here. I recall that if you were on i.e. $55,000 you could then expect to earn around $58,000 with additional payments (Don't quote me on the figures tho!?)

Also, bare in mind that I'm not there yet! This is going by what others have said on the forum and additional info that I've read....

Just a minor clarification on this information, there are actually two main unions for nurses, the PSA and the NZNO. Each has their own collective agreements so the information provided is for the NZNO (obviously).

Here's a link for the PSA version http://www.psa.org.nz/YourWorkplace/HospitalsAndHealthServices/Nurses.aspx
