With just under 2 weeks to go untill we fly out, I've got a job interview in New Plymouth!!

We havn't been lookin at this area, so, if there's anyone that lives in or near to New Plymouth that could give us some advice on the area, that would be great.

Things like good areas to live, primary schools, things to do for kids(and adults), climate, how close to ski resorts(for me!!) and anything else that's worth mentioning. That would be great.

Just wanted to give this a little bump as I have now accepted a job in New Plymouth.

Just looking for any recomendations on schools for a 6 year old and any areas to avoid really.

I know there's not many people on here from that area, but any help would be appreciated.

You need not worry about schooling as all the schools in NP are good. So unless your child has some special requirement you will be ok.
What company have you accepted a job with.
I came over in June and work for Fitzroy.

Hi Pete and Sheila. Nice to see someone else from New Plymouth on the forum!!

I'm working at Max Pennington's, or by its other name AutoCity, as a workshop foreman/mechanic. Started this week, going good at the moment!!

We've got a rental in Westown and move in next week, which we're quite looking forward to. And we've got my little lad in West End School, hes loving it, so...all good!!

Good to here you are settling ok and your little lad is getting on well in school.
