Does anybody know if this affects my application for a work visa?.It has just come back to me and although I have nothing current on my record, there were minor driving convictions over 18 years ago so do I declare them?
Any help would be much appreciated as I dont have any bad things on my record and indeed nothing for over 18 years and as far as im aware they are looking for prison sentences recently or violent/sexual convictions aren,t they??...Cheers.

No live trace means that you are a suitable person to sit behind a cash till and not steal anything! - A shiny example of a potential immigrant.
Minor road convictions don't matter (I think) - and even if they did, they would expire on your drivers lisence after 5 years.
Personally, I would sit back and relax, knowing that your police check is all ok! Congrats

Yeah, you're clean. At least, if you have done anything, you got away with it ;)
Funny innit that these days you have to prove you're not a criminal to go down-under?

As far as I understand it no live trace means you have got a conviction but it so long ago it doesnt count and wasnt to serious. If you had no conviction it would say NO TRACE
The danger is if you dont tell NZIS what your conviction was they may think you have something to hide, If the conviction isnt serious you should not have anything to worry about by telling them.

If might be worth calling them to check this is correct. My OH's came back with the same thing, but he hadn't even had a speeding fine. And has much more detailed checks every year for his job which had always come back clean.
He called them in a big panic. A 'clerical error'. We were very pleased the certificates came to us first!
