:wah:wahHi Guys
Please help... My work permit was returned for me to submit blood tests again.
GGT levels were also high in the 2nd test 80, normal is 60. can they refuse me
or should i be worried.
Thanks again for the wonderful info. this has been a real rollercoaster ride

Hi Linx
Firstly, I'd say try not to worry! GGT levels can be raised due to alcohol, certain medications i.e. statins, contraceptives etc. smoking, age, weight, so alsorts really. Of course, it could also be due to underlying problems such as fatty tissue around the liver.
OH's tests came back a little high and this was picked up the MA's. They have requested further information which we sent off last week. OH had further bloods done at the doctors, all were fine and within range. I'm sure that they will simply ask for further tests, this may involve testing for Hep B, or a liver scan to rule out fatty tissue or other problems.
Have you 'googled' GGT Levels? It will give you a better idea of what it's all about and hopefully reassure you a little?
Good Luck, I'm sure you'll be fine

Hi
thanks for the reply. going off my mind working all the what if variables.
I do not mind a 3rd test, but i need the work permit now to start work.
I have checked up on the ggt levels. Can be caused by diet , alcholol. I have already been for the Hep C test (came back neg).i guess i should not stress.
