Sorry I haven't been in touch for a while - just been totally hectic over the past week. Finally we have arrived in Hawke's Bay after all the planning over the last four years - we are actually here!! We spent four days in Auckland looking for a car to buy and then headed down the East coast for a couple of days, which was lovely. We finally arrived at our motel in Havelock North last Thursday and have been spending our time searching for rentals and looking for jobs. The first day of house searching proved very depressing and we started questionning whether we would ever find anything suitable...we honestly viewed some sights!! Anyway after viewing a house in Havelock today we think we may have found the one which is great. Now just got to find ourselves jobs!

We have also managed to fit in visiting the beach, walking on Te Mata peak, wine tasting, Hastings farmers market, watched the magpies beat Waikato and visited the Hawke's Bay olive festival! We have had a great time so far, even though we have only been here four days. It certainly hasn't been easy and I have my ups and downs, and imagine that these will continue for months. I know we have done the right thing, we both love the Bay but I suppose it will be easier when we have a home and jobs but enjoying life so far!

We would love to meet up with anyone in the Hawke's Bay area sometime...maybe a Hawke's bay meet is in order?!

Welcome to Havelock, glad you found something suitable, You have to be quick with rentals in Havelock, the decent ones seem to go very quickly.
Anyway if you need any help, just give us a shout.
