Hello all, haven't been here in awhile as we have been busy with court case. Good news though, we got our leave to remove the children and need to be out in NZ by Feb. So not alot of time. Question is what is the quickest way out there for a family of 5? Do we go EOI/Skilled Migrant route, or WTR or just work/visitor/student visa? If anybody is going any of these routes could you let me know what sort of timeframe these have?

Many many thanks!

We came over on visitor visa's (6 in family) and then sorted out work/student visa's once here. Then followed that up with PR. In all took 11 months but that wasn't helped by our procrastinating and our co being off for 2 months.

I came over on a WTR visa (have a job with an accrediated employer). Got my visa in 3 weeks. Good luck with everything! :)

Come over on a tourist visa (6 months) as long as you have a return ticket and say your on holiday you will be fine. Then sort out the rest once you have arrived.

Thanks for all the thumbs up!! Right, we've decided to go the WTR route as we feel this covers alot of paperwork (don't really want to be doing that once we're there) and I think we have enough time. Panic over. Booked meds for next tuesday, then I'll send hubby's work visa off, once that is back I'll do my visitor's visa and kids' student visa's. Sounds like a plan. And you know what they say about best laid plans :)

We started this journey back in Christmas 2006...so February 2009 cannot come quick enough :bluebanana

Hi
ours took a total of a month and you can send all of them off together we did what you are proposing to do and my hubby's case officer said that we could of sent them together might have involved less stress as we had a tight time frame

If anyone has any health issues get lots of reports up front. My husband flew out today, our furniture left yesterday as as we were originally all on the same visa (john had to get a temp in the end) and I was sent for medical assessment due to a sciatica injury last summer which is fine now and a blood test which was originally just off but is fine now I am in the backlog for medical assessment and found out today that they have lost the reports from docs that I obtained and delivered in less than 24 hours to NZ house from Suffolk and it took them nearly two weeks to inform me they do not have them even though we have a receipt for them.

Apparently they have changed the criteria for medical assessment (even though my husband put disc problems and was not referred??) so lots more people are being referred but they have not increased the number of assessors and as you will know if you have been through this getting a response from your co is a nighmare. Ours likes to say how stressed she is and how much she does not like her job. We have put in a complaint and they have said they will answer that within 10 days.

So moral is if in doubt obtain loads of reports from gps specialists consultants up front even if your medical doctor says he does not think there will be any problems. I have not had to pay for any reports.:wah
