EOI and registration freakout

Well I had finally decided to submit an EOI and try for PR and possibly apply for a work visa if the process took too long. So I submitted my EOI this morning, paid all the fees. I have everything ready, police certs, medicals the only thing I am missing is my professional registration (but they received my application and have confirmed that everything is in place and will issue me the registration as soon as they receive my english test results -the test is scheduled for saturday, and it should be just a formality)

Then a couple of hours later, after surfing london branch website, I found this document saying that you had to have occupational registration BEFORE submitting EOI or else you could not claim point for offer of employment or qualifications....which is all of the points I have.

That was the first I had heard about that (however I later found that information on the pdf EOI application guide), everything I had read so far led me to believe I only needed proof of registration for the ITA.

I was then freaking out wondering if I should withdraw my EOI and just say goodbye to the 400$ fee, or risk getting rejected and possibly not being able to reapply.

So I called NZIS, the gentlemen was very nice and said it should be ok if I have the registration by the time I get ITA, so I decided to leave my EOI as is....but I can't help freaking out and being scared that it will be rejected. :wah

Well if you know you are getting the registration then its possible that you will get it before they ask for the proof?

Depends if they check these things themselves or rely in obtaining proof from yourself

I have already said in my EOI that I was expecting registration for mid-october, so hopefully they value honesty and potential value of the applicant more than their published guidelines.

Well EOI was successful!
I guess they trust I'll have the registration for the ITA :)

I'm impressed that you did your medical before even submitting your EOI.

The medical is only valid for 3 months and it can take longer than that to just receive your ITA. Most people at least wait until their EOI had been selected and checked before getting the medical, I do hope you don't run out of time and need to do it again.

Same here as well with the Police Reports. We are waiting if/when our EOI because Decision Successful. It has been 5 weeks or so since we have been selected. :o

My first plan was to only apply for a work visa, so I got everything ready so that I could send my application as soon as the registration documentation arrives.

I initially didn't think I'd apply for PR but I think geeting it sooner then later would be advantageous, one for kiwisaver and second, in case me and my boyfriend want to spend extended periods of time elsewhere in the future. So I submitted the EOI, and depending on when the ITA arrives and whether or not the CO thinks that I could get PR before christmas, I might skip on the work visa. So the worst scenario would be that ITA comes much later and I have to pay for both the work visa and an extra medical. Now with the decision successful right now I think I still have a chance to submit ITA before medical expires and apply for work visa if necessary.

I may have jumped the gun on the medical, I seriously didn't think IELTS would delay things so much (I did the test on sep27th, apparently they should send out test results friday, now hopefully snail mail wont delay things too much further as my location doesn't have the online results option) so in retrospect I could have waited another month for the medical. But if I can't send in any application before the medical expires, I'm in trouble as I need some kind of visa before christmas !
