Its one of those days when you feel like going into a corner and quietly banging your head against a brick wall.

Early July our application/medicals were submitted for a P. & G. visa, one of the questions asked when do you hope to go to N.Z. - first week in October please we said. Quick as a flash an acknowledgment letter arrived back saying applications will be considered in order of the date given and we would hear when a case officer was allocated, that's ok we thought.

So we kicked back to enjoy the 'summer', come September we thought we would drop an email to NZIS just for an update, the reply was - no CO yet but if we were hoping to go soon to let them know and they would try and get one allocated. Swift reply - date we hoped to leave was the one given and yes please your help would be appreciated. That would be done said NZIS.

Today, two weeks later I sent another quick email to check on things and low and behold came the reply - No CO yet but if we were hoping to go soon to let them know and they would try and get one allocated...... :uhoh:wah

Sorry to have a two minute whinge and I know you are all going through similar highs and lows - please forgive me but I do feel a bit better now.

Thank you for your kind thoughts Timeanzbound, and all good wishes for your future in N.Z.

We have now had an update, our meds have just gone to the medical assessor, and that can take a two weeks before the CO makes a decision, so its hold breath and fingers crossed and change the flights and focus on the finish when as you say it will be so worth it.

If meds have gone to assessor get reports now from all involved in your care, they only refer if there is a problem and if they come back asking for more reports it helps timewise if you already have them. They will ask for cause treatment and prognosis of any complaint including such thing as sciatica..............

I'll second that!! Kev had high BP and high Cholesterol which are well controlled with meds. This was 'declared' at the medical and the panel Dr signed him off as fit. His lipid count was a little high also so just over 2 weeks after the medicals were referred, they asked for a report from the GP. Sent that in almost 2weeks ago now.....just waiting to hear if it's satisfactory and if we're approved!?

This is what they ask for....as per the email we recieved

Please provide a report from his GP about each of these health issues, concerning the course of these conditions and detailing his present health, any treatment, expected prognosis, any residual problems and any other relevant information.

HTH and good luck

I thought the assessor bit was standard - silly me, as we are only applying for a G & P visa, 18 months in 6 month blocks and we already know we will not be eligible for medical cover in N.Z. so will have our own insurance. Trouble is not sure what the problem might be - husband had a slightly high liver function but the Doctor at the medical said not a issue, he also has a back problem which has been long term for which he has meds and we will pay for those too. So at a loss what to do.
