Gyms in the Bay of Plenty?

Hi,
My family and I will be arriving at the end of Jan 2009 to start our new life in NZ and live our dream. I was wondering if any one could provide me with some information regarding gyms in the area. I would like to join a gym shortly after arriving because if I don't get my weekly fix I can't cope! Sad I know but there are worse vices.

We are intending to live in the Mount Maunganui/Papamoa area so if any one has any thing they can pass on, locations, membership fees, etc.. I will be very grateful. I tend to do more weight training than cardio at my present gym as I prefer to cycle or run for burning the calories and as NZ has a much better climate than the UK I am looking forward to doing it in the sun for a change.
Thanks,
D&J.:nice1

There is no shortage of gyms in the area .there is a gym at the plaza in papamoa ,baywave swimming pool , gyms in the mount and a few i know of in Tauranga itself so bring your runners and you will be fine.

Absolutely no shortage of gyms in the area. Depends on what you are looking for. I work in Tauranga CBD and find BodyZone a good fit for me as I can leave work and walk down and do my work out then head home. www.bodyzone.co.nz/ If you have any other questions feel free to ask. I live in Matua.

cheers.

Thanks to both of you for your replies, that's great news I will check out the link you sent and who knows our paths may cross one day.
Thanks again.

I'm pretty sure there's a 24 hour gym at Papamoa (Form Health and Body Management).
My paper ran a competition for a reader to undertake a 10 week challenge through Form.
Bodyzone is in the CBD and there's Bay BodyFit at the Mount plus a whole heap of chain gyms (women only Curves, Contours).

There's a heap of options for outdoor exercise too - run or walk around the Mount/along the beach, surfing, blokarting at papamoa, cycling (both on road and off road).

Go to google to look for gym homepages, I know bay bodyfit has one.

Good luck with the move.
