Hi there, my partner and I are planning our big move over to NZ early this Decemeber!! We were recommended this site by family already over there, and its already helped reassure that we're not the only one's to come accross hurdles. Im a physiotherapist and we will be applying for residency under my qualification, however it seems we can't apply for residency until I recieve acceptance from the physiotherapy board of NZ, which is another hassle in its self. My registration documents have been sent off to the board so its a waiting game now, however people I have spoken to say that there not the most accomodating board and often return it unsuccessfully, has anyone else had to go through registration? Our move is a little rushed as my partner has taken redundency ready for the move so we want to get there asap get settled and start work early next year. As we don't have residency yet, our plan was to either for me to get a working holiday visa (My patner is 31) or a work visa if my physio registration comes through quickly just to allow me to get some work once over there. I have a phone interview lined up so fingers crossed but its all just a waiting game. Does anyone have any suggestions about the best visa options for us?

Hello and welcome. :) I expect you'll get more advice and experiences when the people in NZ come back online later.

We had a Speech Language Therapist working with us not so long ago and she got a WHV until her registration came through. This way she was able to come to NZ and work. Once her registration came through she got several job offers.
Good luck with whatever you decide to do and welcome to the forum.
