Hi everyone,
Just to update on our application status.
We recently received an email confirming the CO whom will be handling our application.
He requested for us to send xray reports from the Hospital, which in my mistake was left on the xray film envelope from the hospital we had the medical exam. He also requested a police certificate from our home country, which I only submitted the NBI (National Bureau of Investigation) Clearance from the Philippines.
I had to call him instantly to confirm the documents he requested and he was very helpful. I just hope it doesn't have that much negative effect on our application on submitting incomplete documents.
Cheers to everyone! :nice1

Hi Aven,
Thanks for the update, we are your fellow kabayan also working overseas. We also just submitted our ITA back to NZIS Beijing branch and only NBI clearance was included.
Is your CO still asking for a separate Police Clearance in the Philippines other than NBI Clearance? Have you tried to appeal with your CO that NBI clearance is equivalent and even more reliable? If it's not acceptable to them, then we may have no choice but to fly back to Manila to request police clearance.

It shouldn't.
I'm sure you are not the first to forget something, and I bet you won't be the last.;)

Hi Benrus,
Good to hear from a fellow Kababayan here in the forum!
Actually, I called the CO after I got his email just to confirm and he said we really need to get the Police Certificate aside from the NBI Clearance.
But my case is filed in the NZIS Christchurch Branch as I am currently located in Papua New Guinea.
Try to check the pinoyz2nz yahoo group, as I've checked there as well last time and if I still remember correctly, I think most are also giving a Police Certificate aside from the NBI Clearance.
Try all your connection if you can get a Police Certificate without going back to Manila as this will incur expenses on return tickets. I see your in SG, so I guess plane tickets should be cheap from SG to Manila.
Thanks again!

Thanks Nick!
I'm expecting the Police Certificate to arrive on Wednesday from the Philippines. So hopefully will send all 'missing' documents back to NZIS.
Cheers! :cheers

Hi Aven,
Thanks for advising about pinoyz2nz yahoo group. We were not aware that such group exists. We haven't received any email from NZIS yet since lodging our application. Perhaps it is because we only have 120pts and without job offer. Good luck to us all :nice1

Hi Benrus,
We know a filipino couple currently in SG who have an ongoing application as well. I just don't remember correctly whether they've submitted their application to Shanghai or Beijing. But I do remember they are the same case as us in terms of the Police Certificate, they also gave their NBI but I believe their CO requested the Police Certificate as well.
I think they submitted their ITA last May 08, and got a response from a CO about additional documents, like IELTS and the Police Certificate after a few months. But I think they haven't got an interview yet. (Not sure as well if they'll have one)
I cannot give you any advise on your timeline as we have different branches handling our cases. But I believe somewhere in this forum about "NZIS Beijing being slow?..."
As for your 120 points w/o a job offer, a lot of people in this forum would agree with me that as long as you belong in the skill shortage list, your application would definitely be okay, so to say. We'll just have different timelines.
cheers :cheers

Hi Aven,
I don't mind Beijing branch being slow as long as they'll inform us immediately about any other additional documents required. Thanks and good luck :cheers

Hi Benrus,
Since you've lodged your ITA already, I guess it's better to wait from your assigned CO whether he'll ask for the Police Certificate then. Our's gave us 2 weeks to submit the missing documents so I guess since SG's just close to Manila, it shouldn't be that much of a problem when the time comes.
Thanks! :)
