For those of you selling (or trying to!) your UK home, you might find this site useful www.ourproperty.co.uk. You need to sign up for free and you can then access details of house sale prices over the last 5 years as registered with the land registry. You can search by postcode or road name and it shows prices by area, in roads nearby and down to individual house sales.

Could be useful to gauge your price!!

i looked. no way those prices are relevant to the present! if their prices are correct we over-paid substantially and our crooked agency experience just got a whole lot worse.

interesting though. wish had it a few years back

Must admit, I've looked at this site quite abit and (IMHO) the prices are way off, even in the present 'property slump'. Well ....... found that to be the case for us anyway, not saying this will be true for everybody/all areas.

Just to clarify these are prices actually achieved and registered at Land Registry so they are the most accurate guide you will see relevant for the time of sale! They are not a guide to market prices

You clearly have to adjust for date of sale, different property style etc. At the end of the day the market is constantly moving area by area so take it all with a pinch of salt.

More info available the better I always say..............

Thanks for that link.

Was really interesting reading.

One of the Estate Agents that sold a house over the road from us was lying through his teeth when he told me the price of the property. He had knocked about £60 off. I wonder why, this particular agent is advertising quite a few locally at prices way below the rest of the locat estate agents. Me thinks there may be some sort of scam going on here, or they are totally incompetant.

That is useful :cheers

We're currently having our house valued by three different agencies, we'll then go for the middle quote. Like alot of people here, our money is tied up in the house so the more mula we can get the better.

Now, if I can slap a bit of paint on here....and a bit of polish here...
