Is anyone willing to share information on Papanui please?

It's quite a run-of-the-mill area of Chch, imho. Houses the largest of the Chch malls - Northlands - and is a busy area. Has some nice roads with nice houses, most with the average town plot size, but not the prettiest roads in town. Lots of new sections/developments going on in the vicinity, I hardly recognised some areas a few weeks back when I drove along Queen Elizabeth Drive!!

Not too far from the coast/beaches and on the northern (n/w) side of Chch. Don't know of the parks round there.

Easy access to town on the bus, I know that from when I worked at the Papanui Library.

What sort of area, access are you looking for?

He's just donning the Rambo gear now. All self-respecting hares in the Sam B vicinity brace be warned. Just think Seth Armstrong and Zack Dingle...


But back to Papanui. I'm only asking..! I like the idea of a more outdoors existence (without the fitness factor at the moment though!)

I stayed there for about 3 months and found the suburb to be very convenient. It has lots of shops, a 24-hour supermarket, several petrol stations, and just 15min drive or 30min bus ride to town.

It can be really busy during the morning and evening rush hour however. Personally I also find it to be lacking in "character" compared to places like Sumner, Parklands or Lyttleton. I suppose you can't have your cake and eat it at the same time! :D
