I think I've asked this before, but now we seem to have a lot more Welly residents on the forum...

We are hoping to settle in Wellington (husband is a network admin, I'm working on becoming a corporate librarian). I do a lot of my grocery shopping at Asian supermarkets - the fresh foods, especially the veggies and fish, are high-quality and cheaper than in regular supermarkets. I also use a lot of Asian condiments, seasonings, etc.

Has anyone checked out the local Asian markets in Welly or elsewhere? Are larger supermarket-type markets available, or are they mostly smaller stores?

Wellington has a big, very-well stocked Asian supermarket called A-mart which I regularly spend hours wandering around in...slack-jawed at the variety (they do fresh stuff too...meat & veggies...but some of it looks a bit tired to me. Cheap though & great for herbs like coriander ,kaffir lime leaves, etc.). There's numerous other , smaller places too including one great place for Indian spices, etc....although the name escapes me at the mo.
All centrally located too.
