Hi, folks - I'm Jacqi B's partner. We are in the midst of our application, having had the Invitation To Apply. We have been for all-too brief (around 4 weeks each) visits together in the past few years, so we aren't complete novices. :D
I'm the principal applicant due to my 20+ years' toil in the computing industry. I'm going to the exhibition at Olympia on 18th October to chat to a few possible employers and shipping companies who I understand will be around.
I am or will be investigating all sorts of things in the background such as the practical necessities of importing my 1968 VW Beetle and 1998 Yamaha motorcycle.
I'd prefer to find work in the Wellington area or even Napier, although I suspect Wgtn is more likely. We shall see, though - I'd certainly love to have a definite job to which to go and I have one Big Uncertainty soothed at least! I have been freelance for much of the last 10 years, though, and it might be nice to carry on ...
The internet is a fabulous resource for finding out at least some the differences which might otherwise be left as a surprise. There are likely to be a plathora of mundane questions to ask such as the usual lightbulb fitting: BC or ES?
Anyway - enough for the time being ...
Cheers for now,
Rik
