well it is finally time. one last evening with our friends in Colchester and then Sunday morning arrives and we are off to Heathrow to catch our flight to Auckland! :clap :exit
our 4 suitcases are bulging at the seams and i'm desperately hopeful that our scales are somewhere near accurate as otherwise we will be getting fleeced at the check in for excess weight! i thought i was going to have oodles of free space in them too, that'll teach me to be over confident :D
so far the only thing i seem to have lost is the charger for C's shaver, no idea where it has gone! hopefully that is the only thing that has gone walkabout *crosses fingers*
see you all on the other side, at some point when we find a wi-fi spot and can stay awake long enough to post :)

Well, the day has finally dawned. We're up early so we don't miss the flight even if the M25 is clogged up, everything's packed up and in Liverpool waiting to be shipped (including our car reg document it turns out - we had to have em fish it out, or I wouldn't have been able to sell it! ). All that remains is to drive to Heathrow, check in our suitcases and have a couple of final goodbyes and then we're en route.
Blimey! It's starting to feel a bit serious at this point... :uhoh
See ya later JAFAs!

First leg done. We're in the transit lounge in LAX. Going through security wasn't too bad (took about 20 mins, and we were right at the back of the plane!). They've laid on chips and drinks and even free wifi, so not too shabby from Air NZ. Food was okay, and the kids were quite well behaved, though they're going mental now in the departure lounge heheh. Hopefully, everybody will just go sleep on the final leg :)
Later all.

Well we're here in one piece. Got in very early, and spent the morning in the city organising a few things, then went to find our new homr for the next couple of months. It's pretty good in general but we did laugh at some of the furniture - I reckon every decade of furniture is represented lol.
Devonport is heaven, and I can't believe the view I've been looking at one my desktop for the best part of a year is now what I see at the bottom of the driveway! It's surreal and I'm constantly getting feelings of deja vu - that's what too much research materil on the internet gets you :)
More when i'm less zonked. Didn't sleep on the plane, couldn't get comfortable. Other than that, it was a pretty much textbook operation and we're both feeling a bit smug. We're just going to chill for the rest of the day and try and get into the right daytime pattern in the morning.

Heheh well we were told the rental didn't have internet, and there's a note saying there is internet at the library, but when we got here it did. Strange. I'm not sure if the owner knows she is paying for the connection (I'm not high-jacking next doors - there's a modem and everything). So I'm using it unless told otherwise!
Hence the small feat of posting from 3 continents in not much more than 24 hours :laugh
