I am now on the waiting game and I dont know for how long i need to wait on the queue. You may say it is too early for me to worry looking for job in NZ.
But I think recession will not end in coming weeks or months. Just finger cross situation will not get worse and worse.

So, I would like to ask those who are now in NZ, does you few the recession in NZ? Does vacancy reduce alot?

I did not get a job offer in NZ so, I dont sure the chance i have PR. most likely if they grant me something, it will be WTR. So i need to find a relevant job in a given time frame or i will be kick out from NZ.

So for those has already moved to kiwi can you give us, the people in the queue, some idea on what is the situation in NZ.

Hi sekilau!

What a good question! We are in the same situation, so I would also love to hear opinions from others

The building trades are very quiet at the moment. Most of the firms in this area are not recruiting. What employment are you looking for?
Also, this might be geographical.

You can get approved for PR without a job, BUT if you career path is not in a high demand skills area and/or living in a city where the demand for your skills is low, you might be unemployed for a while if you are holding out for your ideal job.

If you work in I.T. (software engineering to be exact) and come to Wellington you should be fine... :D

Good luck!

For me, the recession only exists in my mind if I read the newspapers and they put it there. Otherwise, everything looks the same, costs the same (in the case of petrol, less), I still have the same financial struggles as I always have, and the ability to splurge at times. Is this is recession?
