Moving Cash from Credit Card

Hi,

Long story short - wanted to move cash from my current account in Ireland to NZ. Struggled to get hold of the bank, so moved the cash from my current account to my credit card, expecting that a local car purchase would use up most of the money.

We bought a cheaper car and now still have funds in this account. I have been drawing cash out at the ATM over a few days worth of spread. Is there an alternate / quicker method to extract this money and get it into a local account here? I dont mind paying a bit extra if needed. The current value is around $9500.

Thanks

Wooaahhhh I'd watch what you're doing there. You'll be being charged interest daily on all that money that you're withdrawing on your credit card (even if you're balance is in credit).

Double check your terms and conditions on the card, but withdrawing money that you've already credited onto the card will be very expensive. The best option (if possible) is to leave it there and use you're card for all your day to day expenses, till it runs down.

You could call them up and let them know that you want to close the account and give them your bank details to transfer the balance to.

Good idea - wonder how difficult that will be and if they will transfer to an international (NZ) account?
