we are looking for something central in which to while away the first 2 weeks or so. can anyone recommend a decent suite hotel or some such thing? we have to be able to cook/ sit down and eat because of max - 22 months. needs bathtub, heating, usual suspects...

These caught my eye and we are booked for 10 days when we arrive at the Lattitude 37 complex. Compared to many of the apartments I found on the Internet, they seem very good value - sure there are cheaper options, but these seem to suit our needs on arrival.

we were in the same situation when we arrived here about 6 weeks ago. dont know how much it cost as i think we got it at a special rate as it was paid by employer, but we stayed at a place called Cintra Apartments, like a hotel but spacious and cooking facilities and everythin. its at the top of symonds street so close to twon and if youre lucky a fantastic view out over the bay. i think it was about a hundred bucks a night or something.

Leslie - just a quick thought - a lot of the room rates for the apartments EXCLUDE GST, so remember to add that on! All the hotel rates I have seen INCLUDE it, so just one to watch!
