Hi all
Stats obtained from NZIS showing average time (in days) from selection of an expression of interest to an invitation to apply issued: March 2004 – January 2005
March April May June July August September October November December January
Auckland Central 24 20 24 35 40 45 64 60 74 55 63
Bangkok - - - 29 77 52 60 63 76 69 71
Beijing - - - - - 83 - - 86 86 38
Christchurch 22 21 20 22 22 34 44 46 40 34 51
Dunedin 36 46 - - 73 85 125 88 93 87 70
Hamilton - 25 - - 55 42 42 38 64 46 23
Henderson 31 31 35 37 45 60 68 70 82 58 56
London 28 24 37 47 58 58 68 58 60 53 75
Suva - - - - - - - 101 151 - -
New Delhi - - - - - - - - - 139 114
Wellington 32 38 35 40 55 59 71 86 100 65 89
They'd have to be worried, most branches have doubled or trebled their processing times, UK included
Average and maximum times (in days) between the issuing of an invitation to apply and the receipt of an application for residence or lapsing of the invitation to apply: March 2004 – January 2005
Average time outstanding --- Maximum time outstanding
March 6---9
April 22---38
May 33---63
June 35---99
July 49---121
August 48---121
September 51---121
October 56---121
November 53---121
December 54---121
January 61---121
This shows that since they hit the lapsing time period of 121 days, people are taking longer and longer to respong to the invite, implying that increasing numbers are not doing so.
Then this:
Invitations to apply where no application for residence has been received as at 18 February 2005
Length of time since issue (months) <1---1---2---3---4---Total
Invitations to apply 823---2,427---1,148---711---254---5,363
Over 5,000 invitations with nobody home....suspect some were never going to fly as not being within policy, but 5,000 is equal to six dips into the pool with nobody home. Deduct 5,000 from the 24,000 invited already, that means NZ will get only half their target skilled migrant quota for the year.
That would imply that as long as you want to migrate, speak English and get 100 points there should be few reasons why NZIs would decline any application even without a job.
Keep at it everyone, the limbo bar is as high as it will ever be and the drums are beating at their loudest.
