Hi forumites,

Can you believe that we have been home for a year today already
Unreal huh!! It so doesnt feel that long for us. We have been home longer than we were in NZ!! Oops!

So what have we achieved?????

Well obviously the families are re-united and that is just heaven, would not change it for the world. We both got back into our previous jobs quite quickly and my job went permanent in July so thats a financial weight off our minds. And the final piece of the puzzle is imminent, we have bought a house and signed the contracts just waiting to exchange any day :clap Its a nice wee 3 bedroom in the same street as dan's mum & dad, our best friend and our god daughter so we cant wait to get cracking with it. We got it considerably lower than the asking price so for us it is a reasonable time to buy.

So do we miss NZ? Have occassional pangs of regret?
Not a chance!!!

It was a very expensive, upsetting time of our lives and life is way too short to be miserable. We never went to NZ to escape anything in the UK but it sure brought it home for us that happiness can be found on your own doorstep. NZ will remain a stunningly beautifull country with lovely friendly residents and gorgeous blue skies, its just a better place without us in it :laugh

I now kinda live my pretend NZ life through all my old forum chums, so stevieD, PP & BBB and all the others who keep blogs keep the pics updated and I def do look in on here a lot. Keep up the good work Kiwi's xx

Glad to see you getting yourselves sorted. It was miserable for you so we pleased.

All the best for the coming times...... I will keep the blog updated when I got some new pics to put on - not been up to too much lately.

Jeeze Amanda, is it 18 months since we met you at the Persimmon Cafe in Pirongia. Now that is scary.

Glad to know all is well with the move back and there aren't any regrets at all, as coming back would have sent you guys over the edge me thinks.

I haven't forgot about those house pic's either, just that things have been a little hectic round here of late. In fact i will flick them through when i get back in today around lunchtime.

Yay, you've bought a house. So pleased for you. I know that was one of the many things that got you down about NZ. I was only thinking about you yesterday and the fact you'd be gone a year so good to hear all is well.

As you say, Sam will probably be along later with something witty - he's working til about 2 so will be much MUCH later. :D

Hey Kim, how about some photos for the rest of us who have been waiting? :laugh
