Hi forumites,
Can you believe that we have been home for a year today already
Unreal huh!! It so doesnt feel that long for us. We have been home longer than we were in NZ!! Oops!
So what have we achieved?????
Well obviously the families are re-united and that is just heaven, would not change it for the world. We both got back into our previous jobs quite quickly and my job went permanent in July so thats a financial weight off our minds. And the final piece of the puzzle is imminent, we have bought a house and signed the contracts just waiting to exchange any day :clap Its a nice wee 3 bedroom in the same street as dan's mum & dad, our best friend and our god daughter so we cant wait to get cracking with it. We got it considerably lower than the asking price so for us it is a reasonable time to buy.
So do we miss NZ? Have occassional pangs of regret?
Not a chance!!!
It was a very expensive, upsetting time of our lives and life is way too short to be miserable. We never went to NZ to escape anything in the UK but it sure brought it home for us that happiness can be found on your own doorstep. NZ will remain a stunningly beautifull country with lovely friendly residents and gorgeous blue skies, its just a better place without us in it :laugh
I now kinda live my pretend NZ life through all my old forum chums, so stevieD, PP & BBB and all the others who keep blogs keep the pics updated and I def do look in on here a lot. Keep up the good work Kiwi's xx
