Hi All,

I want to immigrate to NZ, I just want some clarifications.

How much it cost for a family of 3(Couple & a Child)?
How much time it required for EOI Submission to Landing in NZ?
Is there any chance of NZ citizen ship?
Is there any help for Skilled Worker for Job placement?
What's the job market situation there?
I have applied for Canada which take 5 years can I apply NZ at the same time?

Looking forward for your kind reply.

I'm sure you'll get more answers when the people already in NZ come online later.

However, about this question...
Is there any chance of NZ citizenship?Once anybody has been granted PR (permanent residency) in NZ, and has lived in the country for five years after taking up the residency, they are entitled to full NZ citizenship. However, even before that, the PR gives a lot of the same rights as full NZ citizens have - e.g. education and health care.

Hi there. In response to your question on my profile:
We went to NZ on a visitor visa and my husband had an in person interview which resulted in a job offer. We were able to go into a local NZIS office and get a 1 year work permit.

As to your other questions:

Immigration only costs are laid out on the website but there are also medicals, moving your stuff, cost of flights, cost of settling in and many other small things. I think it would be safe to say that it cost us (2 people) at least 5000 USD. It did cost us more but we brought dogs as well.

EOI submission to landing: can vary really. If you have a job offer it can be very quick. If not it can take up to a year. Look at peoples time lines, often found in their signatures.

Not sure what you mean by help for skilled workers. Job placement? Not really. There may be private companies and there are recruitment agencies but nothing sponsored by immigration.

Job market for IT is good, don't know about other things. It will depend on region and specialty as well.

As for dual applications I have no idea. How does Canada feel about that?

I would say that since Canada has such a long drawn out procedure for obtaining residence which might not even end in success, then they really should have no surprise (and hence it should not influence the application) that people would also apply elsewhere while their application is lodged. 5 years is a big chunk out of anyone's life to have to live in limbo. Thankfully New Zealand's immigration process is relatively swift, especially for those with jobs lined up.
