Yikes. I'm glad no one seems to be seriously hurt. Just thinking about the approaching freight train noise gives me goosebumps.

It's interesting, in the US, every tornado article seems to quote people referring to God's will and/or grace. The people in Greymouth mentioned how thankful they were for co-workers, husbands, and other people for keeping them safe.

My parents live in Greymouth :no
My Dad lives 2 streets away from Collins St which seems to be worse hit and according to Dad is a bomb site. :eek My mothers house is in another area of Greymouth and is fine too. Couldn't get hold of my father when I got home from the school run which set my little 6 year old daughter crying her heart out as she thought something had happened to Grandad :no but all is well. (Mum is over in CHCH at the moment so we knew she was ok!)

Small world--On my LOCAL TV station, they showed video of this tornado, quite scary!
