Hello everyone,

I have been on a few forums, but I have been unable to find the information purely about New Zealand. So imagine how chuffed I was to find you.

My husband and I have been discussing emigrating for 5 years but we have finally been brave enough to take the plunge and start the process.
I will be honest we did contact a company who said for a fee of 150.00 would assist us with the application. ( they have not been helpfull at all)

We do have 135 points as my husband is an Electrician. I spent all yesterday filling in the EOI and he does have City and Guilds in electronic servicing which I found was a recognised qualification.....so ....am I right in thinking that we do not need to fill in the NZQA?

Anyway I am only supposed to be saying hello so hello to you all
and I look forward to hearing from anyone

Welcome. I think as an electrician in lieu of doing NZQA you need to register with the NZ accrediting body?
Some one else will know better as I only have a vague idea :)

Your OH needs to get his qualifications assessed by the EWRB.

They will tell him if they will grant him a provisional practicing licence, under supervision, and what he will need to do to gain a full licence.
