Sorry if you have all been through this before, I have spent a good week reading as much as I can but am still left with a few gaps with my situation.

I have already had a WHV and been a student in NZ. I have been back in the UK for 3 years and I now want to go back and make a life, I should never have come back really but hindsight is a wonderful thing!

I am unskilled but have about 6+ years experience. I don't have enough points for a visa until I have a job offer and in my line of work that will be close to impossible I think.

Looking for advice and experience of others in the same boat. I am single, young (26) and an administrator/secretary, probably in a position to move up to PA.

I will probably have to risk going out as a visitor but am wondering what the likelihood is of me being able to find a position and successfully get my WV.

Do I still need my police check, medical and proof of experience if I just get an ordinary temporary work visa?

None of this is an issue, just need to make sure I am taking a well researched and calculated risk by jacking it all in and going out there with nothing secured.

Thanks for your help and um hi! I'm new and this is my first post!:o

Your previous work experience in NZ (on WHV) and study in NZ should give you some points on an EOI.

As you say you have no skills (and I'm not sure if secretarial/PA are on the immediate or long term list, sorry) you may want to consider going out on a BUNAC. If you google it it should take you to the page. It is like a WHV but for people up to 35 and I think can be used even if you have had a WHV before.

Once you have that you should be able to find work and proceed from there with a work to residence or other type of visa. You'll want to check the NZIS site to see if a WTR (work to residence) is a good option for you or an EOI (expression of interest for skilled migrants) would be a good option for making your transition to a more permanent stay in NZ.

Hope that helps

BUNAC looks like a good way to do it, I have a guaranteed visa, get to work legally and have time to change to a longer term visa.

Things are looking up!

Just need to get my second job here, start saving and find a foster parent for the cats while I get settled!

I'm so excited, never even knew BUNAC existed, this was looking like a nightmare but not any more :D

Thank you everyone, I have decided after searching BUNAC on here and looking up the website that I am definitely going down that route, seems like quite a good way to get here with a visa and then changing over to a WTR or another longer term visa much easier.

I am aiming for the end of Feb as that's when my contract on the flat runs out so just need to get that second job, save like mad and book everything.

Oooh, I just want to tell everyone now!
