Hi All!

As I've read in the previous threads about acknowledgment emails with or without dates of how long a decision is going to take, would anyone know any reason/s or circumstances when it would or would not have a date in there?

In our case, we received the acknowledgment email without a decision date, and in my thought maybe because our CO asked for additional (or missing) documents that we needed to submit.

We received the acknowledgment email from an assigned CO after two weeks of ITA lodgement so I guess he will send us another email again with a decision date (hopefully...)

Any thoughts guys?.. :nice1

From all that I've read here, NZIS Beijing always acknowledges with an estimated 6 months timeframe to decide whereas NZIS Shanghai doesn't give such a date and there are some applicants of Shanghai branches who have been waiting for much longer than 6 months.

Applicants from India and the Middle East countries also seem to have to wait for a much longer time. UK applicants seem to have to wait the least although there are a range of variations.

It looks to me the primary factor to determine the speed of processing is the processing branch. The secondary factor is probably the applicant's nationality.

If your ITA was lodged with NZIS Chch branch, I guess it should not take as long as the other offshore branches. I remember reading from a few others who had their applications processed by branches in NZ with relatively shorter time.

Good luck.

Thanks for the reply udang!

Our's was submitted to Christchurch. Although, the CO didn't put any decision date, hoping they'll process it accordingly.

Thanks again!

When I was recently in the NZ Christchurch branch they told me they were the most backed up of all the NZ branches :uhoh

They also told me the London branch is one of the more efficient branches.

I have no idea why or why not there would be a decision date though. Sorry. I think it must be up to the CO writing the letter.

I recently received my acknowledgement letter from the Christchurch branch and it did have a timeline list on it. I don't really know how reliable it is though, since it said it would take 4 months to assign me a case officer (but I already have one). I think it was more of a standard fill-in-the-blank form letter (since there was also a blank completely left out!).

Wouldn't worry too much if yours didn't specify. If it came directly from your CO I would take that to mean a lot more than my standard letter that was incorrectly filled in and came from my case officer's assistant.

You could be right beanbeanz, it could be some standard formats the CO's are using to send acknowledgment emails, whether it's going to have the decision date or not.

But anyway, let's continue on the waiting game...

The dates are all general dates based upon current activity. The London branch just tell you how long it will usually take with and without a job offer, but do update their part of the INZ site to tell you what date ranges they are currently working on:

http://www.immigration.govt.nz/branch/londonbranchhome/tipsandprocessingtimes/skilledmigrantprocessingtimes.htm

You could drop them an email and ask what the current process times are if they do not have a site like the London branch.
