Originally I was going to go down the wing and a prayer route of coming out with no visa as I'm unskilled so don't qualify for a visa and already had my WHV.

After discovering BUNAC I am hoping for an early March departure date. The purpose of this for me is to start a new life in New Zealand.

So..........with all that in mind, are there people out there with experience of changing from a WHV/IEP in an unskilled job but had an employer who wanted to keep them and therefore went on to get a work visa or work to residency visa?

Just want to be realistic about my expectations.

I'm admin/secretary with about 6 years experience and come up with about 50 points on my own merits, not taking into account previous WHV and student visa (no real qualification) for New Zealand. So I don't qualify for anything on points without a job but my fear is that my position is too easily filled within NZ. Although I did look at the vacancies filled statistics and it was about 63% for admin which to my optimistic reasoning means that there were 37% of positions sitting there unfilled :o

Hi there,

Not sure I can help on the specific employment area, however, I arrived on a BUNAC IEP Visa, (all it is is a 1 year work visa - with no conditions on what type of work you do), in April and subsequently applied for residency under the skilled migrant category - (work in IT). Residency came through in September. Pretty painless and quick.

Me too, do a search on many of my posts and old posts.
As DJ said, all the IEP is really is a work visa but better :)
