Hi there. I am new to the site, and have posted a reply to someone else's thread on getting their RN registration granted, but I thought I should post a separate thread here. Does anyone know if an associates of applied science in nursing is recognized by the NZ council? I have been working as an RN here in Colorado for 3 1/2 years. I just submitted my application for registration the other day and saw an old thread concerning NZ not recognizing two year nursing degrees, so now I'm terrified.

I'm pretty sure they still don't accept 2-year nursing degrees. I read a thread about someone being rejected because of the two year course a month or so ago.

Now if only I can find it...

Thanks for the link...that is the same thread I had seen that caused me to worry. What I don't understand is that the bachelors degree and the associate's were both the SAME exact classwork (minus a theory class or two), took the SAME amount of time, etc., etc. Also, I sent my CV to the auckland district health board, and I have a telephone interview next week for a position in one of their OR's. You would think they would be savvy to which degrees count for registration...or maybe not?

Well all you can do is wait to hear back I suppose.
