Hi all, I meant to post this when we got back from our break in Mangawhai Heads earlier this month, but got distracted by our poor old dog Olive's untimely demise.
Anyway, what I was going to say was that the entry charges have changed, effective October 1 this year: NZ residents can now get in for free on production of photo ID. My NZ driving licence sufficed and I'm sure a passport would also do the trick. It was a very interesting and very beautiful place, well worth a visit if you're in the area. It was about an hour's drive north of Whangarei, and we stopped in at the Hundertwasser Toilets in Kawakawa on the way back to the bach, again, worth a quick stop :D

I would support Gil in Waitangi being worth a visit......beautiful well kept grounds, lovely walk and views across the bay and lots to see and learn about NZ history.

Sorry, but I for one would not go there if required to pay anything. It would be like having to pay to visit lands end in Uk as far as i am concerned.
