Hullo peeps!

'Fit like?', as they say, 'fae frrrrrrozen Aiberdeen' (ie, how's things?)

Well, what can I say? As you know, we have been granted permanent residency (mid-September), but we havent yet submitted our passports for those bonnie blue stickers. We were giving ourselves the maximum time, ie 6 months to hand them in and a further 12 to get over to NZ... but

Ok, here's the deal!

We have been trying to get Mr Granite lined up with a job but as neither of us are on the skills shortage list as such, EVERYONE, without fail, is telling us to get our butts over and 'it'll be fine when we get there' and 'it'll be easier to get a job when you are out there'........

Well, much as we'd like to have got something secured, I think we are going to have to bite the bullet and 'go for it'.....

I'm not so stressed about temping, I've done that over the years, but Mr G is really enjoying his current job here and would really like to airlift it direct to NZ.

Oh, and the other thing, we've been advised to hed for CHC or Wellington (neither of us want Auckland), so our dreams of Nelson (first choice) will have to be shelved for now, and Christchurch (second choice) will be our best option job-wise. Nelson will have to be our retirement (and annual holiday - yay!) destination!

Soooooooooooooooooooo

The flat is getting the final 'once over' prior to going on the market. We need it to go 'on' before those pesky (and expensive) Sellers Reports are required here in Scotland (Dec!).

So, ONLY when the flat sells will we hand in our notice...... its SCARY BISCUITS!!!!

I've even sold my beloved motorbike already! That's like chopping off my right hand!

Oh me, oh my!

With any luck you can take up motorcycling again when you get over to NZ - from what I've heard, most of the South Island roads are wide and empty! I'm also really hoping to get back into motorcycling when we finally get over there.!!

Good luck with the flat sale. :)

Cheers!
Pete.

Ok, another wee update!

We've bitten that bullet! The flat is being measured and photographed on Thursday night and will be up for sale next week!

Oh me! Oh my!

The other two in our street have both sold within 2 weeks of each other and my pal that's marketing ours was able to tell me how much they went for (much quicker than waiting for my 'ourproperty.co.uk' to come up with it! We know what to pitch at now, so here goes!

The more we talk about it, the more Mr G is sounding calmer about just going for it. We are both still a bit jittery, but what the hell. I got another response from another agency in Christchurch today in the same veign as all the others, so....................................

Sploooooooooooooooooooooooooooosh! :exit

That's us in at the deep end now!
