Ok, have just sat for the last hour or so whilst browsing the forum having Comic Relief on in the background. Obviously we have this every year along with Children in Need. I am not knocking it at all, in fact i do laugh along with others at the sketches but in the process donating my hard earned dosh to these good causes whilst shedding the odd tear at some of the reports shown, whilst realising how fortunate we are, but others aren't.
Does NZ have something similar? and should we be prepared. Also do you think they could match the efforts that these programmes here in the UK manage in being a total success year in year out.

Hiya guys
I've just recovered from my RND effort. I work for Barclays (until this Thursday as I've resigned yipeee :P )who have a call centre on the site in Cheshire where I'm based. They open up this, and other, call centre to volunteers for Comic Relief. And this time I decided to do exactly that.
Went to work at 8pm and spent the evening as a call centre operator:
:P Good evening you're through to Comic Relief, which card would you like to use for your donation? :P etc etc. It was great fun, we had around 100 lines open at any time. I finally left at 1.30am, as I felt my eyes starting to close and I had thoughts of my daughters running into our room some 5hrs later :? Well worth it though. Missed all the telly, but fancied doing something different this year.
Sure we'll get to find out about NZ appeals once we're there.

Good on you Babette :nice1
Kim, as far as I know NZ doesn't participate in anything along the lines of Comic Relief or Children In Need. Like Babette says, I guess we'll find out soon enough.
