I've just checked the London Office processing times and they are listing the following times for applications without job offers, is this everyone's experience? It seems a very long time (sob)

EOI Selection;
Case officer will contact you within 3 months
ITA will be assessed within 4 months
Final decision within 3 months

That's a total of 10 months! :wah

..I think it depends on a few factors... i.e.
- do you have more than 145 points for automatic selection for the EOI?
- could you turn around your ITA within a few days
- Would the information provided in your ITA be sufficient not to raise any more questions from NZIS?

Have a look at people's timelines (and in particular if they are from the UK) in their signatures. One thing to note when looking is that the timescales shown in signatures don't always express the liaising with the CO!

If we had no problems with our application, we could have got it turned around in about 5 months... - but we've had to provide further information and wait until the end of Nov to prove our relationship.

The 10 months processing times are maximum times... but it does take a while. I think the emphasis is on the applicant for delay!!

Hope this is help... and good luck!

I see a lot of sense in what doowrehsij said that how soon you turn around your ITA matters. I submitted mine after about 8 months as NZQA delayed claiming they had to do verifications of our qualifications because we had not received certificates but only notification of completion of studies and awards. I'm wondering maybe same issue is delaying my ITA processing now as my CO told me my application is undergoing third party verification.

The timeline given is just their estimated (likely its their base targets). It has been near 3 months for us and have not heard from a case officer, but others have said they also did not unless something was needed. The actual dates given are quite accurate for those ITAs that do not require further information (ie medicals). From what I have seen (your in the same boat as us) currently you are looking at 4-5 months wait from when you send in your ITA. Back in July I have seen people gaining theirs in a little over 2 months, guess they got busier.

10 months is not so bad when you look at the Canandian visa of 31-38 months!
