Grrrrr a rant about my Bank!

Decided to apply for a credit card, mainly for convenience, but also to take advantage of Reward Points offered etc.

As someone who is in the process of building a house here, and buying new furniture and fittings soon, I thought by using a credit card to make large purchases - taking care to clear the balance before interest, would be a good way to go.

Step one, massive in depth interview by bank about salary and spending habits....lots of umming and ahhing, but basically making sure I wasn't a risk.....can understand that. Bank then takes 3 days to decide to approve the card.

I go into bank today with passport and other forms of ID to collect card to be told that my card has been sent to my home address 3 days ago!!!!! EH......(not received it)
The cashier repeated the address it had been sent to.......
MY OLD RENTAL ADDRESS - that I vacated 6 months ago!!!!! :wah
Oops.....they said, seems like we have 2 addresses on file old and new, and we've sent it to the old! Do you think you could go round there and ask the new tenants for your post they said......ARE YOU HAVING A LAUGH? I actually said back!

Incredible....... What would you do?

Depends on how far it is to go to your old rental.... but I would strongly suggest to the bank that they examine their processes. It's very un-secure to send credit cards off to postal addresses, surely?

I'm not really sure what to do with mail that we get from old tenants. We've been saving it, but I don't know what is usually done? In the US you'd write return to sender and pop it back in the box for the postal carrier to take away again.
We did have a former tenant of our house come around and pick up her mail so perhaps it is common?
I'd just pop around in the evening and ask the new tenants (if it isn't too far), or leave them a note with your phone number.
