Well it's in (EOI) :nice1 Had 100 points in the end as Sarah's C & G diploma in Nursing doesn't rate any points as far as we could tell. Unless any of you know any different? :hopeso
We are going to Emigrate 2005 on Friday and Saturday (But will have to leave early on Sat to see the mighty Wales beat Ireland :hopeso) so if you are going, PM me and we could maybe meet up for a chat and a tea.
How long does it take to find out if selected? I only ask as there is a new draw on the 16th. Am I being ambitious about getting picked up on that draw or not?

Good luck with the selection.
As far as I can tell, NZIS are all but emptying the pool at each draw, so ypu should be in with a good chance of being selected this Wednesday :hopeso
As for $315 well spent, well, if you get selected then be prepared to shell out a bit more for medicals, police certs., ITA application & migrant levy!

Hi Hayden.. congrats - that was quick wasn't it!
The next phase may not be so quick - depending on your circumstances - so after you've finished the champagne start researching all aspects of life in NZ (this site has lots of helpful references) such as salary levels, cost of living (food, transport, schools, etc) and absorb as much info as you possibly can.
Next you will receive a letter from the NZIS telling you that you have been selected. Then the ITA (Invitation To Apply) will be sent. This is the part that can take a few months - check out the "timings" survey http://www.emigratenz.org/immigration-application-timings.html which gives real-life timings to ITA and PR etc. You might also want to begin to collate your work references, original qualifications docs etc in readiness for filling in the ITA.
You could also start getting removal/shipping quotes and perhaps even getting your Police checks rolling... Personally, I wouldn't get your medicals done just yet - we made the mistake of getting ours done as soon as we were selected and by the time the ITA arrived they had run out (they are valid for just 3 months) even more so now that the costs of medicals are to rise. Police checks are valid for 6 months so you are pretty safe to get those sorted asap.
Not sure of your particular circumstances - when are you planning to move here, have you had a job offer, do you know where you want to settle? You'll have lots of questions over the next few months so search through this forum using the Search Facility or post your questions here if you can't find an answer - we're all here to help and are all at different stages of immigration and have had various experiences!
Hope that helps just a little!

Not sure if I am doing this right as I am not known for my computer proficiency. I am a Nurse Practitioner looking at relocating to NZ, Wellington or Auckland. Would be interested to hear from other nurses about there experiences. Many Thanks. LYNN x
