Anyone fancy a house-swap over Xmas break?

In the UK we did over 20 house-swaps with other families over a period of years; every one a huge success and a fantastic way to have a comfortable base to get to explore another part of the country.

Just wondering if anyone (proabably N. Island only) would be interested to swap their home with ours for a week or so? Can pm details of us and our home.

Nat, you're on!! But maybe be more exciting for the kids to go to a different town, rather than across town!

Would love to, but unfortunately you'd have to be prepared to live in an empty house, since our stuff won't be here for christmas :)

I think it's a fab idea. It's something we're thinking of getting into next year when we become " Empty nesters " ( unless one of them pings back ! )
It's a good budget way of seeing different parts of the country, I hope you find manage to find someone to swap with this year - have you looked at the house swapping agencies ?

Re-posting this for the next school hols 4th July to 19th July as have failed to arrange a swap and most agencies have people who want international rather than domestic swaps.

There must be someone who'll give it a go?

Sounds like a great idea. I'm not sure that we could manage it for July unfortunately, as it looks like we'd struggle to get time out of work etc, but definitely something i'd be interested in another time :yes

I hope you get some takers......Cambridge is a lovely town :)

Karen, so sorry I didn't get back to you; how rude of me! We'd love to do a swap with you but to enjoy the S Island, it'll have to wait til a longer holiday....Xmas 2010 maybe?

Tomsk ; we'd be seriously interested sometime; even for a weekend?
