how long in advance do NZ businesses plan their recruiting requirements?
I will be in NZ in Feb 2009 for interviews. When do you think I should start actively applying for vacancies with a view towards interviews in Feb?

Probably about now - explain your circumstances and remember Christmas and the summer holidays are coming up so there'll be lots of interruptions to the normal timescale of closing dates, interviews etc. Good luck
