Actually a couple of them.

1) WHY do they put you RRV on the 12th page of your passport? Seriously...is that the only place they could think of?

2) I'm a bit confused about the wording on my RRV.

"The holder may travel to NZ and on application be granted a residence permit"

Umm.....colour me stupid but don't I already HAVE a residence permit if I've got an indefinite RRV? I thought having lived there for 3 years already that I had a residence permit. What's this about having to apply for another one? Is this more paperwork and more money or is this just me showing up at the airport and them saying "welcome back my lovely, have a good day".

I'm soooo incredibly sick of paperwork.

Visa and Permit are two different things. You get the Visa to go there, and then on arrival the stamp is the permit. The permit expires when you leave the country, but the visa doesn't necessarily.

Personally, I think they should do away with this confusion and just call it something else, I had such a hard time trying to explain this difference to the Singapore Airlines guy in London in August, I almost started to scream.

So once you get there, the stamp they put in your passport when they say 'hello, welcome back' is the permit, no additional paper work required.

Well that's just ridiculously confusing...and for no apparent reason. Thanks for clearing that up for me!
