Sorry, just have to vent a bit. Our EOI was selected 1 September; they apparently 'misplaced' it until 3 1/2 weeks ago, whoops! Then said they would speed it through the proper channels so we would have our answer in 'about a week'. Here we are now, still waiting and no one from NZIS is answering my pleas. Does anyone have any advice? We've already got our tickets booked and dogs have reservations for quarantine, must say we're going with or without pr at this time! Argh!
Vent off. Thank you!

Cat - where are you right now in terms of phoning or e-mailing them? Are you keeping on with that or have you decided to cool it since the week when they said they'd finally check your EOI?
Might be worth one 'big gun' call where you very decidedly (though politely) express your deep concern and maybe ask to speak with a manager or something.
As SoCal once said, it seems as thought something (probably minor) is "up" here that needs a very squeaky wheel, and it might take one big call to talk with someone decisive.
Cheers,
Matt.

I agree with MB - are you based anywhwere near the NZIS office? If so I'd get myself down there - they can't avoid you when you're on their doorstep!!

Cat -
Matt is exactly right, you need to make that squeeky wheel noise with someone. Of course, if you are going on anyway, you can get it all sorted out later, but I have found (hunt down my depressing posts if you much) that if you are NOT hearing anything, and everyone around you in similar situations is moving forward, something is most likely UP. Good luck and hang in there!

I think you're all right. I will just have to buckle down and call them, but it won't be until next week as my schedule is really hectic Tues through Sun. Thanks for the push, I needed it. At this point though, we have our tickets and may just wait until we're actually in NZ to finish the process since we're leaving the country (honeymoon!!) in 4 weeks and will need our passports for that. Thoughts?
Happy St patricks everyone!

Cat, congratulations!! Yes, hang on to that passport for now, that's my rec.
And have a wonderful honeymoon and new life! Don't worry about them dropping the ball, things are in YOUR court, it appears, so focus on the good stuff for now.
Cheers not tears!!
