Don't know where to put it in this forum :o

Our car, Hilux Surf, for sale on trademe (http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=188693272&ed=true) at moment. My OH is keen to sell his car because his heart is still set on old Landrover, just like one we used to had in UK :laugh He said it is very good car but prefer to have Landy!

He should probably add to the TradeMe listing that he's a professional car restorer and that it's in fab condition!

I find the new 4 x 4 too big to be really practical for off road adventures. I have a 1990 Pajero and Its far more nimble than the new ones. All the serious off roaders I see have landys and older jap 4x4 so I dont blame your hubby.

Hey Sophia we might well be interested if OH can convince me to take on his current car :o Obviously I'm still learning to drive too but we have that baby stuff to drop off to you so maybe we could pop down one weekend and look at the car too? OH positively salivating at the thought of a Hilux Surf behind me as I post - how sad is that ...:laugh

I really can't believe that anyone would choose a Landrover if they had actually driven one. I had to use one on a farm I worked on years ago and it is still quite the worst vehicle I have ever driven. Are you sure you are not looking through the old rose-tinted specs?

'Years ago' might be the key to the problem. We've had several Land Rovers and Range Rovers, and really like them. We recently had a free test driving day of the newest ones - even more fantastic. I'd get one at once if I had deeper pockets.

Range Rover quite a different kettle of fish, horribly badly built but a nice car never-the-less; I'd consider one of those but not the 'traditional' Landy.

Just my OH love old car with bare inside, he is not keen on fussy inside the car, state of art etc...like newish cars :o
Funny I have to agree with him, I used to drive series 3 as my own car over 6 years ago when I was in mid-20s (I missed this landy) then had disco1, nice car but "too posh" compare rest of landy we had :laugh, then we had landy 130 as my everyday car before move to NZ, fantastic landy, we did touring & camping around France in it with our toddler.
We also used have 101, lightweight, old army landy soft top def and my OH grew up with landy especially with his first car was landrover that he did stripped and built by himself at 16 :yes

So Landys always been with our family....and my parents still post out landrover magazines :D had recent ones arrived yesterdaay, funny enough.
