Having spent the past 5 months in self-inflicted unemployment I now seem to be heading back to the job market - in principle if nothing else. A lovely job has come up at a local high school and they've just phoned to ask me for interview next Tuesday. I need to have my trackie bottoms and t-shirts surgically removed so I can look the biz. Trouble is, I'm not sure if I can cure my jandal feet in time to squeeze into proper shoes. I don't know, is the suit and trainers look ok?
And I think we went unconditional on the house today subject to the other party's cash-out clause (they have five days to come up with the cash)

Wow!
Actually I heard that everyone wore suit and trainers to an interview these days, its also customary to greet the interviewer by throwing a custard pie in their face and making a comment about their mother - honest! :D
Good luck.
Cheers

Fingers crossed Gilly. :D Suit and trainers was what I wore today! Trainers being the only footwear I can get on with this air splint! Nice look.... not. :uhoh

Good luck to you! I hope that you--unlike me--won't have become so USED to unemployment that a job offer seems an imposition on an idyllic lifestyle.....I begin my first NZ teaching job in Dargaville, starting in January. Cheers! Susan

... Best of luck..after about 10 interviews at this stage.. my feet are allergic to my high heals.. i usually end up driving home from interviews in my bare feet as i cannot take the pain any longer!
....As for the interview.. i have found interviews here to be so relaxed and casual its a joke!... I had an interview yesterday for an Assistant Accountant position- the accountant interviewing me did not have a clue what to ask me- he asked nothing about my previoius experience and i just don't know how he can possibly pick a candidate without knowing their experience!!!..
Anyways best of luck.. and go barefoot!!!!:bluebanana

Did you get the job??? It's all right for you accountanty-type people, you can go barefoot because you need the toes to count on. We teachers have to make sure everything is nailed down out of sight!
