We're buying a car. In NZ. While we're still here . . .

My Dad just flew into NZ yesterday (they travel there about twice a year) and has already found us a car at a dealership that has agreed to hold it for us when we arrive in February. Crazy. It's exciting, but scary, ya know?

Don't nobody swoop in and buy it on us: http://www.drurymotors.co.nz/details.asp?vehicle_id=479581

We're getting it for alot less than the sticker price too.

I assume you haven't paid for it already or put down a deposit otherwise I hope for your sake that they are still trading when you arrive in February!

There was an article in The Press today talking about how many car dealers had closed down recently as well as the fact that two of worlds largest finance companies are pulling out of car financing in NZ and OZ and had given dealers 60 days notice to repay outstanding finance or potentially have their stock taken away to recover the costs.

Yikes. Well my Dad's going to go finalize it on Monday. If they can't store it for him, he'll park it at a relative's house or something until we get there. It should be okay, but thanks for warning me.

And yeah, it's alot cuter than the ugly Japanese import van I was figuring we'd have to get to fit all of us into. Fun!

Oh yeah, Flaxmere is a world-famous ghetto. But we were all raised there, my cousins and Aunts and Uncles all still live there and everything. I still have lots of friends there. It's an interesting place, yeah the violence and crime is really high. It's still home to me. I don't admit that often. Yikes.

My grandparents are in Hastings, I'm going to Massey in Wellington, and we're thinking of living in Masterton. ;)
